Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior AI Solutions Architect — Generative AI to translate strategic AI guidance into actionable GenAI capabilities. You will design, prototype, and deploy GenAI solutions that accelerate lighthouse projects, establish reference architectures, and seed reusable patterns across the COE.

The role leads the GenAI architecture and grows toward broader COE technical leadership. Hybrid work with Reston, VA, and US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in AI development, ML engineering, or applied AI.
• 3+ years hands-on with Generative AI/LLM systems; Bachelor's degree required (Master's/PhD preferred).
• Production experience deploying Generative AI / LLM apps (RAG, agentic workflows, tool-use).
• Hands-on AI/ML lifecycle: design, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy GenAI/LLM solutions to production for lighthouse projects.
• Build AI applications supporting enterprise, mission, and customer-facing use cases.
• Work hands-on with foundation models, agent frameworks, RAG architectures, tuning and evaluation.
• Collaborate with peers on JANUS delivery and Council package prep.
• Integrate GenAI into enterprise systems and AI platform under construction.
• Contribute to reusable assets, patterns, and governance including responsible AI.
• Lead vendor evaluations through multi-vendor RFI and Forward Deployed engagements.
• Mentor spoke-team leads and AI developers across the organization.
