Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist for the SPSSS team in Seattle, WA, to lead ML and GenAI initiatives that impact billions of ad impressions and shopper experiences. You will drive end-to-end ML projects, deploy production models, and mentor junior scientists, building scalable data pipelines and advanced retrieval systems.

You will translate research into practical applications, applying state-of-the-art GenAI techniques and NLP to improve relevance and performance across advertising

Qualifications

• 3+ years building ML models for business applications
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and ML
• Experience building NLP systems (speech recognition, MT, NLP)
• Experience with large-scale ML systems for profiling, debugging and scalability
• Master's degree or above in engineering, CS, math, or statistics
• Experience in patents or publications at top conferences/journals

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical leader in ML and Generative AI
• Lead end-to-end ML projects with ambiguity, scale and complexity
• Build, optimize, and deploy ML models into production
• Establish scalable automated data analysis, model development, validation, and serving
• Apply knowledge of LLMs to production-grade GenAI applications
• Analyze large-scale data to increase traffic monetization and sales
• Design and run A/B experiments and statistical analyses
• Research and prototype innovative ML/GenAI approaches
• Recruit, mentor, and grow Applied Scientists on the team
