Job summary

Amazon Science is seeking a technically seasoned Applied Scientist to lead ML and GenAI initiatives within the SPSSS team. You will drive end-to-end ML projects, productionize models, and establish automated data analysis pipelines to support billions of ad impressions and clicks.

Key responsibilities include researching innovative GenAI methods, mentoring junior scientists, and collaborating with software engineers to deliver production-grade solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building ML models for business applications.
• PhD or Master's with 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical leader in Machine Learning and Generative AI.
• Lead end-to-end ML projects with high ambiguity, scale, and complexity.
• Build, optimize, and deploy ML models into production with engineers.
• Establish scalable, automated processes for data analysis and model serving.
• Apply strong knowledge of LLMs to production-grade GenAI applications.
• Analyze large datasets to derive insights for monetization and sales.
• Design and run A/B experiments and perform statistical analysis.
• Research and prototype innovative ML and GenAI approaches.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow Applied Scientists on the team.
