Job summary

Matlen Silver in Jersey City/ NYC is seeking a Senior GenAI Engineer with 7+ years of Python development to design and implement a GenAI platform and business use cases. You will build production-grade Python applications and integrate AI-powered solutions into workflows.

The role emphasizes independent coding, production experience, and strong software engineering fundamentals, with AI knowledge as a plus; 18‑month W2 contract. Location is Jersey City/ NYC, on-site.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional Python development experience.
Strong hands-on coding and ability to work independently without AI assistance.
Strong Python fundamentals and application architecture knowledge.
Experience building, deploying, maintaining production-grade applications.
Experience with APIs/backend services using FastAPI.
Unix/Linux environments and scripting experience.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of software development best practices and clean code.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and oversee end-to-end GenAI platform implementation.
Build scalable, resilient, and reusable architectures.
Develop production-ready Python applications with AI integrations.
Design software integration solutions involving AI platforms and infrastructure.
Lead technical delivery and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Drive SDLC automation for platform performance and resiliency.
Research and prototype emerging AI technologies.
Mentor team on software design and coding standards.
