Job summary

Harnham in the United States is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to own and deliver real, production-grade Generative AI solutions. You’ll take ideas from prototypes through scalable deployment, with clear impact on customers and internal teams.

This role is hybrid or remote across the U.S., offering exposure to end-to-end AI delivery, prompt engineering, vector databases, and RAG pipelines, with collaboration across product, data, and engineering to align AI initiatives with business priorities.

Qualifications

• Advanced Python development skills with GenAI and ML libraries.
• Hands-on with large language models, prompt engineering, and evaluation.
• Experience building RAG pipelines with vector databases.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms.
• Experience delivering production-grade conversational AI or chatbots.
• Ability to explain AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Generative AI applications across client-facing and internal platforms.
• Develop LLM-powered solutions using prompt engineering, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines.
• Build and own AI chatbots and conversational agents to production standards, including performance, scalability, and compliance.
• Create AI agents across digital and voice channels to support real-time interactions.
• Deliver proof-of-concept solutions for use cases such as document understanding, summarisation, and knowledge assistance.
• Optimise model usage, prompts, and parameters to balance accuracy, cost, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and external partners to align AI solutions with business priorities.
