Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design and deploy advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions for global financial services. The role emphasizes Python, PySpark, Azure ML, Generative AI, and Full Stack development within a cloud-native environment.

The candidate will lead ML model development, GenAI implementations, and data pipelines, collaborating with stakeholders to improve decision-making and risk management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Science, ML, AI Engineering
• Proficient in Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing
• Experience with FastAPI and REST APIs
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML techniques and model governance

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy ML models using Python and PySpark for financial data
• Build models for forecasting, classification, clustering, anomaly detection and risk
• Validate models with historical data and back-testing
• Apply AI techniques per requirements and regulatory constraints
• Optimize model performance via feature engineering and hyperparameter tuning
• Design Generative AI solutions using Azure OpenAI Service
• Develop RAG apps leveraging vector databases and retrieval systems
• Create agent-based workflows with LangChain, LangGraph and Agentic AI
• Apply NLP/LLM to surveillance, reporting, compliance and advisory functions
• Ensure responsible AI adoption and governance across the organization
• Develop scalable backend services and APIs with FastAPI
• Build microservices and AI app frameworks integrated with ML/GenAI
• Follow best practices for maintainable software and CI/CD
• Implement authentication, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization
• Design scalable data pipelines and feature engineering with Azure ML
• Create reusable data products and components for multiple initiatives
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to operationalize models
• Establish model monitoring, retraining and lifecycle management
• Ensure security, reliability and production-readiness of solutions
• Develop end-to-end ML/AI solutions on Azure stack and DevOps
