Job summary

DIRECTV is seeking a Principal AI Architect to define, design, and evolve enterprise-grade Generative AI architectures aligned with strategic objectives. You will provide deep technical leadership across GenAI, AI/ML platforms, and enterprise systems, ensuring scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions.

You’ll partner with Application, Data, Platform, and Product teams to embed AI capabilities, govern MCPs, multi-agent orchestration, and model deployment while driving governance and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; or equivalent experience.
• Deep expertise in Generative AI and AI/ML architectures (LLMs, RAG, vectors, orchestration).
• Experience designing multi-agent systems and agent orchestration in enterprise environments.
• Ability to design secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise architectures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for Generative AI architecture across the enterprise.
• Drive GenAI strategy, evaluating technologies like LLMs, RAG, AI agents, vector stores, prompt frameworks, and orchestration platforms.
• Architect MCP implementations, defining context, memory, tools, policies, and guardrails for AI workflows.
• Design multi-agent and agent-to-agent orchestration enabling autonomous task decomposition and collaboration.
• Define orchestration strategies balancing performance, cost, reliability, and observability.
• Partner with business and product teams to translate problems into AI-driven solutions with measurable outcomes.
• Lead architectural discovery workshops aligning AI capabilities with strategic goals.
• Establish reusable AI architecture patterns and reference architectures with governance.
