Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 4 to advance our Gen AI platform services, including agentic AI, guardrails, evaluation and memory. You will design and deploy AI software, train and optimize foundation models, and ensure reliability and governance across complex systems.

You will work with engineers, researchers, program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products and real-time customer experiences, leveraging Open Source and SaaS AI technologies in a responsible,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 4+ years of AI/ML experience.
Master's degree in CS/AI/EE/CE plus 2+ years of AI/ML experience.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
Leverage OSS and SaaS AI tech like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, PyTorch.
Develop foundation model optimization techniques for better performance and cost.
Own end-to-end architecture for complex AI systems and ensure observability.
Define and maintain SLOs for AI reliability, latency, uptime, and drift.
Collaborate with infrastructure to optimize GPU/TPU utilization.
Lead cross-functional technical reviews for new AI deployments.
Mentor junior engineers on scalable design and production translation.
