Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 4 to join the IFX team in McLean, VA, building responsible and reliable AI systems for real-world banking. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI powered products and scale production platforms.

You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components, optimize training and inference, ensure governance and security, and mentor junior staff as you help shape the long-term AI roadmap for Capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant field with AI/ML experience.
• At least 4 years of experience programming with Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java.
• Experience leading AI systems with tradeoffs on cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy.
• Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-powered products with cross-functional teams.
• Design, develop, test, deploy AI software components.
• Optimize model training, inference, and governance/observability.
• Define and maintain SLOs for AI reliability and security.
• Collaborate with infra to optimize GPU/TPU usage and accelerate pipelines.
• Mentor senior associates on scalable design and production translation.
