Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer focused on GenAI and Machine Learning to build SaaS-native, multi-tenant backends. Hybrid work from our Coppell, TX office, with onsite interviews only. 6+ years in software development, strong Python/Java, and AI/ML experience are required.

You will develop backend services, integrate with ERP/inventory systems, and drive scalable microservices while collaborating with stakeholders and using modern CI/CD pipelines. Local candidates only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 6+ years of software development experience.
• Strong Python and backend development experience.
• Strong AI/ML software development experience – forecasting, applied data science.
• Proven ability to work directly with stakeholders and customer/account management teams.

Responsibilities

• Proficient with backend development with Python including API development and performance engineering.
• Apply ML/data science techniques to improve forecast accuracy.
• Provide direct customer support – troubleshoot issues and escalations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into delivered features.
• Use GitHub Copilot and other coding agents to accelerate delivery from Jira to PR.
• Contribute to GenAI agent development for supply chain use cases.
• Develop and maintain backend components using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Design and architect backend systems for scalability and reliability.
• Integrate with ERP and inventory systems via robust APIs.
• Manage large volumes of retail data using SQL/NoSQL databases and optimize performance.
• Work with QA to implement comprehensive testing frameworks.
• Troubleshoot backend issues to ensure system stability.
