Job summary

Tech Mirrors is seeking a senior GCP Infrastructure Engineer to lead automation and provisioning across GCP/GKE and CI/CD pipelines. You will own bootstrap scripts, Terraform modules, and GitOps workflows in a hands-on role based onsite in Chicago.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of infra experience and deep scripting focus. Responsibilities include building bootstrap automation, Kustomize overlays, and preflight checks, plus disaster recovery tooling and runner image automation for multi-OS

Qualifications

• 12+ years in infrastructure engineering with strong scripting and automation focus.
• Expert-level Bash scripting for multi-stage provisioning with error handling and idempotency.
• Strong PowerShell skills for Windows-based automation and runner image management.
• Advanced Python for infrastructure tooling and API integrations.
• Strong Terraform (HCL) and module development with CI/CD integration.
• Kubernetes manifests including Kustomize, Helm, and KCC resources.
• GCP SDK/CLI proficiency: gcloud, gsutil, kubectl; experience with GKE.
• GitHub Actions workflow authoring including self-hosted runners and reusable workflows.
• Experience with GKE lifecycle management and Config Sync setup.
• Familiarity with Packer or similar tools for VM/container image builds.
• Strong Linux administration (Ubuntu/Debian, networking, storage).

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain bootstrap automation scripts for GCP project provisioning and GKE clusters.
• Build and maintain Terraform modules for GCP infrastructure components.
• Develop Kustomize overlays and KCC manifests for GitOps-driven delivery.
• Create preflight validation scripts for readiness checks across GKE, networking, IAM, Config Sync.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines: GitHub Actions workflows for Terraform and KCC validations.
• Develop operational scripts for disaster recovery, secret rotation, and image builds for runners.
• Automate runner image builds for Linux, Windows, Android, and iOS GitHub Actions runners.
• Create monitoring and alerting automation and dashboards as code.
• Collaborate with the Principal Cloud Engineer on architecture decisions and implementation.
