Job summary

VITS Consulting Corp is seeking a Senior GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform. The role emphasizes hands-on work with BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Python, and SQL.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable data products, establish modern data engineering practices, implement Terraform IaC, and ensure data quality, governance, and security across large-scale datasets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Extensive experience with BigQuery.
• Hands-on experience building pipelines using Google Cloud Dataflow / Apache Beam.
• Experience with Apache Airflow and/or Google Cloud Composer.
• Strong programming skills in Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
• Build and optimize data solutions using BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
• Develop workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer.
• Write efficient, production-quality Python and SQL for data processing and transformation.
• Design and maintain data warehouse and data lake architectures.
• Develop appropriate data models for analytics and downstream applications.
• Implement automated infrastructure using Terraform / IaC.
• Support CI/CD processes for data engineering applications and infrastructure.
• Implement data-quality checks, validation, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Troubleshoot pipeline performance and production data issues.
• Partner with analytics, engineering, product, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Follow appropriate data security, governance, and privacy practices when working with sensitive information.
