Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead turbine component development from concept through manufacturing, working with SMEs, manufacturing, Powerplant, and project engineers to align technical requirements, schedules, performance, and cost.

Location: Palm Beach Gardens. This onsite role demands deep gas turbine design expertise and strong communication to influence cross-functional teams and drive manufacturing-friendly solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in high-temperature gas turbine development.
• Deep expertise in gas turbine design and manufacturing processes.
• LM2500 or LM6000 engine experience preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving; cross-functional influence.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and development of turbine, compressor, and combustor components that are robust and manufacturable, meeting performance and cost targets.
• Shape project plans by defining technical milestones and guiding teams from concept through production.
• Use advanced analysis to support new product development and repair strategies, influencing the technology roadmap.
• Collaborate with chief engineers, SMEs, manufacturing teams, Powerplant, and Project Engineers to address challenges and deliver solutions.
• Capture design requirements, progress, decisions, and results in clear reports and presentations for stakeholders at all levels.
• Champion lean problem-solving and ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and sustainability.
• Provide expert technical insight during in-field hardware reviews and operational assessments.

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer to lead development teams and ensure the technical integrity of New Product Introduction (NPI) and repair development for gas turbine component designs. From initial concept through manufacturing, operation, and repair, you will partner with technical Subject Matter Experts, Manufacturing, Powerplant, and Project Engineers to align technical requirements, schedules, performance, and cost.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Drive Manufacturing Impact:Champion lean problem-solving and ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and sustainability.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• 8+ years of experience leading technical development for high-temperature gas turbine applications
• Deep expertise in gas turbine design and manufacturing processes, including casting, joining, machining, and coating
• LM2500 or LM6000 engine or component design experience is preferred
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in Siemens NX, Microsoft Project, and statistical tools such as Six Sigma and Minitab
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
