Job summary

CobbFendley is seeking an experienced Gas Pipeline Designer for our Houston, TX office. The role focuses on leading design efforts, developing plan/profile and utility drawings, and translating survey data into constructible designs.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of design experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and related tools. This is a full-time, on-site position with a strong benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable codes and standards, and established design practices.
• Proficient in using design/drafting software to develop, modify, and coordinate drawings and deliverables.
• Ability to analyze data and apply design criteria for accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for project components with limited supervision and support PMs/PEs.
• Develop and refine plan, profile, cross-sections, and utility drawings per project needs.
• Interpret survey data and records to create constructible design base files.
• Translate concepts into coordinated design deliverables and manage redlines.
• Perform design calculations (grading, drainage) and quantity takeoffs with minimal oversight.
• Coordinate field data collection and integrate findings into design development.
