Job summary

Exelon Corporation in Baltimore, MD seeks a Sr. Gas System Controller to ensure safe, reliable operation of gas transmission and distribution systems 24/7. You will oversee SCADA-based monitoring, coordinate with pipelines and gas supply, and forecast demand using weather tools.

Role requires leadership, deep gas system knowledge, and the ability to manage critical decisions and shift plans while maintaining CRM compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business; 4–7 years' experience, or 6–9 years with a high school diploma.
• Ability to operate independently and analyze system data to react quickly to changes.
• Extensive knowledge of gas distribution and transmission systems and their limits.
• Ability to work a rotating shift per CRM Fatigue Management Program.
• Strong communication skills and three-part communications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control gas pressures, flows, temperatures and odorization on transmission and distribution systems.
• Lead or perform corrective actions for abnormal operating conditions at gate stations.
• Forecast demand and gas supply requirements based on weather and historical data.
• Coordinate with pipelines, Gas Supply & Transportation for nominations and confirmations.
• Determine production gas needs and notify plants of required vaporization rates.
• Communicate construction/maintenance activities affecting operations and customers.
