Job summary

Durr Universal in Stoughton, MA seeks an Application Engineer to be the primary technical resource for field and internal sales during technology evaluations and sales processes. You will advise customers on gas turbine inlet and exhaust systems, deliver tailored solutions, and drive project success while aligning with engineering and sales teams.

You will maintain expert knowledge, prepare system descriptions, review specifications, support bids, and travel up to 25% to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of acoustics, filtration, aerodynamics, and exhaust after-treatment principles.
• Proficiency with CAD systems (3D preferred).
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert-level knowledge of products and their applications, esp. gas turbine inlet/exhaust systems.
• Interpret customer requirements and provide clear communication and reliable solutions.
• Manage technical deliverables for engineered-to-order projects and prepare system descriptions or mark-ups.
• Cost projects during the bid process and support sales with technical input.
• Act as technical liaison for customers on warranty and field issues.
• Ensure engineering requirements are communicated to customers and to the design team.
• Provide technical training and product application support during customer visits.
