A leading company in the utility industry is seeking a Senior Gas and Construction Inspector to oversee gas construction projects. This role includes inspecting work, ensuring safety standards, and requires significant experience in excavation and utility construction. Job Title : Senior Gas and Construction Inspector
Job Duration : Temp-direct (520 hour conversion)
Est. Pay Range: $45-50 / hr. on W2
Location : Rochester, NY
Experience and training in excavation, road, or utility construction with an emphasis on gas installations, plastic pipe installation, welding, and steel pipefitting. Gas Inspectors will oversee construction projects on Gas Transmission and/or Distribution pipelines, gate stations, district regulator stations, and downgrades.
Inspectors may oversee multiple construction projects at different stages, from design and cost estimating to final closeout.
Must possess managerial skills, computer literacy, and a working knowledge of the utility industry.
Inspect work performed by contractors, ensuring adherence to company specifications, proper work methods, and appropriate use of facilities and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures. Must keep detailed field records including daily reports, material usage, and test records.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements is essential. Inspectors must ensure safety standards are maintained on all projects they oversee.
Associate's Degree in a technical or construction-related field, or a high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in excavation, road, or utility construction, particularly in electric installations, plastic pipe installation, welding, and steel pipefitting. Oversight of various electric utility projects is required.
Availability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Must possess managerial skills, computer literacy, and utility industry knowledge.
