Job description

Mob Entertainment is a startup multimedia studio that is best known for our hit indie horror game "Poppy Playtime". Poppy Playtime is one of hottest new properties in gaming, and our team is naturally expanding as our ambition expands. To give a taste of our brand's popularity, Poppy Playtime had 7.5 billion views of Huggy Wuggy videos on YouTube.

MOB Entertainment is looking for a talented Senior Gameplay Animator to collaborate with a team of other Animators, Storyboard Artists, Technical Artists and Programmers to tell a story and help us continue to push the limits of character animation for our upcoming titles.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  1. Assist a team of animators in the development of high quality in-game animations and cinematics.
  2. Reference storyboards if provided.
  3. Develop excellent visual frames and strong poses that represent the characters and serve the game's design goals.
  4. Present work to the team, seek input, and incorporate feedback from leads and teammates.
  5. Commit to deliverables and manage your goals within regular milestones and deadlines, while maintaining the appropriate style over the course of a project.
  6. Continually refine processes for animation throughout production to increase productivity for the animation team.
  7. Animate a diverse range of compelling, alluring, and fear inducing creatures/characters that support unique and dynamic gameplay.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  1. 5 or more years with Autodesk Maya
  2. 5 or more years in Unreal Engine 5 (clear understanding of Blueprints, State machines and Level Sequences)
  3. Ability to animate in a variety of animation styles and disciplines (including cinematics, performance-based ranging from realistic to cartoony, gameplay and prop)
  4. Ability to pivot at any point in time during production
  5. Body mechanic mastery
  6. Work with shooting reference
  7. Expertise in the principles of animation
  8. Expertise to animate both characters and creatures (biped and quadruped)
  9. Self-motivated, unshakable strong work ethic, an excellent team player
  10. Ability to communicate with peers and other disciplines, mentor junior and mid animators
  11. An effective communicator, well organized and punctual
  12. Understanding of JIRA and Confluence
  13. Meets all deadlines during sprints
  14. Creativity in problem-solving and the ability to think outside of the established solutions
  15. Work closely with Tech Animation to provide feedback for rigs
  16. Work closely with the Team Lead to help plan, facilitate and promote growth within the animation team
