Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Senior Reporting Accountant to lead complex financial reporting and U.S. GAAP analyses within the Financial Reporting & Accounting function.

You will prepare journal entries, rollforwards, and schedules, and support external auditors with technical accounting research. This role requires deep knowledge of GAAP, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, transparent financial

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Five years minimum of accounting/financial reporting experience.
• CPA a plus.
• Experience with external audits.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Researches, interprets, and applies U.S. GAAP and FASB guidance to complex matters.
• Analyzes contracts and agreements to determine proper accounting.
• Prepares technical accounting analyses, memos, and schedules.
• Provides technical accounting support for major areas (financing, leases, pensions, etc.).
• Develops recommendations with authoritative guidance and documentation.
• Supports monthly/quarterly/year-end close and external financial reporting.
