Job summary

Our client, a global investment firm in Manhattan, NY, seeks a Senior Operations Associate/Manager to oversee structured credit, repos, secondary loans, and other complex credit instruments. You will scale cash and position reconciliations, manage P&L reporting, and coordinate with fund administrators and prime brokers.

You will mentor junior staff and oversee onboarding of new counterparties, while evaluating new systems and processes to support growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, accounting, or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in fund operations, middle office, or fund administration.
• Hedge fund, credit manager, or private fund experience required.
• Experience building cash and position reconciliation processes.
• Understanding of fixed income products such as public and private debt, corporate bonds, CDS, structured credit, and financing facilities.
• Direct experience managing P&L processes and working with fund admins on NAV and allocations.
• Highly organized.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong working knowledge of systems such as FIS VPM (or similar PMS), IVP (or similar Data Warehouse), PortfolioBI OMS, Citco suite, reconciliation platforms, CTM/ALERT, derivative systems (IceLink, Markitwire, TradeServ, CME, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Direct operational oversight of structured credit, repos, secondary loans, and other complex credit and fixed-income instruments.
• Develop and scale cash and position reconciliation procedures, including oversight of daily reconciliations, break resolution, and controls around books and records.
• Serve as primary liaison with fund administrators and prime brokers, ensuring accuracy in reporting, cash flows, and P&L across portfolios.
• Oversee fund-level and portfolio-level P&L reporting; sign off on nightly performance.
• Collaborate with the accounting team on entity setup and operational infrastructure.
• Manage and mentor junior operations team members and overseas support teams.
• Lead onboarding and operational readiness for new counterparties, financing agreements, and leverage facilities.
• Evaluate and implement new systems, processes, and tools to support fund growth and complexity.
