Job summary

The Blackstone Group L.P. in New York is seeking a seasoned fund formation attorney to lead matters across the fundraising lifecycle.

You will mentor junior lawyers, coordinate with outside counsel and business groups, and provide strategic guidance on LPAs, side letters, MFN elections, and investor documents. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in fund formation, strong analytical and communication skills, and a track record in cross-border fundraising and complex fund terms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience practicing fund formation law.
• In‑house fund formation lawyer or law firm with a fund formation practice.
• Meaningful credit experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with cross-border fundraising and offshore fund vehicles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a main point of contact for fund formation legal advice across the fundraising lifecycle.
• Manage and develop junior attorneys, prioritizing, allocating, and quality‑controlling work.
• Advise on negotiation of LPAs, side letters, MFN elections, subscription documents, and other fund documents.
• Advise on LP experience and LP dynamics across fundraising and the fund lifecycle.
• Partner with various teams to drive execution on fund launches and investor negotiations.
• Support LPAC matters, fund governance, amendments, and ongoing investor relations legal issues.
• Advise on regulatory considerations relevant to fund formation and capital raising.
