Job summary

Suron, a leading investment firm in New York, seeks an experienced Fund Controller to lead fund accounting and financial reporting while building an internal team. You will own end-to-end accounting for investment funds and drive transition from third-party administration to an in-house function.

You will recruit, mentor, and establish scalable controls, collaborating with executive leadership to strengthen financial operations and support growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 8+ years of fund accounting and fund administration experience with registered investment companies and private funds.
• Knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940, US GAAP, ASC 946, SEC reporting, and RIC/Subchapter M taxation.
• Experience overseeing third-party fund administrators and valuation specialists.
• Familiarity with daily NAV calculation mechanics is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee NAV calculations, portfolio and cash reconciliations, transaction booking, expense accruals, and pricing across all Funds.
• Manage fair value and Level 3 valuation processes with third-party engagements and inputs review.
• Implement and maintain shadow accounting procedures and NAV tie-outs to fund administrator books.
