Job summary

WhiteCap Search seeks a senior fund accountant for a fast-growing hedge fund in Jersey City, NJ. You will work closely with the CFO, COO, and the investment team, leading month-end NAV, cash and position reconciliations, and complex instrument valuation.

The role emphasizes internal controls, client reporting, regulatory filings, and collaboration on annual audits, with potential for bonus. CPA preferred and 5–10 years of asset management experience.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in asset management, hedge funds, or similar settings.
• Prior supervisory or review experience strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting skills and hedge fund structures familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and review of the month-end NAV process.
• Supervision of cash and position reconciliations.
• Valuation oversight across complex instruments.
• Review of interest accruals and income allocations.
• Management and performance fee calculations.
• Partnership allocations and capital account statements.
• Oversight of investor capital activity.
• Coordination and management of the year-end audit process.
• Maintaining and enhancing the internal control framework.
• Preparation and review of client reporting deliverables.
• Preparation of internal management reporting.
• Oversight of regulatory filings.
• Review of daily and monthly P&L estimates.
• Process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects.
