Qualifications

  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally spanning public accounting and/or alternative investments.
  • Significant experience with private equity secondaries, fund-of-funds, or similarly complex private market investment structures.
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP and investment fund accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading fund accounting, controllership, and financial reporting activities.
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable processes, controls, and operating models.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the financial control, accounting, and reporting functions for a portfolio of private investment vehicles.
  • Own the design and enhancement of finance processes, controls, and operating procedures as the platform scales.
  • Oversee relationships with external administrators, service providers, and other data partners, ensuring accuracy and consistency of financial information.
  • Review fund-level budgets, forecasts, liquidity requirements, and financial projections.
  • Support the launch and implementation of new investment vehicles, products, and operating initiatives.
  • Coordinate responses to investor and client information requests, including those associated with fundraising and ongoing reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data integrity, automate manual processes, and leverage emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with investment professionals and cross-functional partners to resolve complex accounting and operational matters.
  • Establish appropriate governance and controls around financial data, systems, and reporting.
  • Manage, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting and finance professionals.
  • Take ownership of special projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of senior finance leadership.

A leading global investment platform is seeking a senior finance professional to join a rapidly expanding private markets business focused on secondary investments. This is a newly created leadership opportunity with broad responsibility across fund accounting, financial reporting, operational infrastructure, and business transformation.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with complex private fund structures and a track record of building scalable finance and operating processes. This individual will work closely with investment, operations, tax, legal, technology, and senior management teams to strengthen the platform and support continued growth.

  • Advanced Excel capabilities required; experience with platforms such as Power BI, Alteryx, or Anaplan is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and effectively partner with senior stakeholders.
