Job summary

Cerberus Capital Management in New York, NY seeks a Fund Accountant to support Residential and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities strategies. Responsibilities include maintaining books, reviewing fund admin outputs, and calculating allocations and investor statements.

The role interacts with Trading, Tax, Legal, and Finance teams; requires US GAAP expertise and strong detail orientation. Base salary ranges with bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3-6 years of public or private accounting experience. CPA preferred.
• Experience with fixed income securities, equities, repos, and derivatives.
• Experience with fund accounting issues and fund structures (open, hybrid, closed ended).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Proficiency with AI tools and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and record accounting entries in accordance with firm policy and US GAAP.
• Review monthly books and records prepared by fund administrators and internal reporting of P/L and returns.
• Review allocations, management fee/incentive calculations and investor statements.
• Calculate investor capital calls and distributions; track unfunded commitments and recallable distributions.
• Prepare internal/external deliverables and ad hoc projections of fund/investor data.
• Review payments/reimbursements for fund expenses and clear cash breaks.
• Communicate regularly with third party administrators.
• Review quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements and footnotes.
• Interact with Operations, Investor Relations, Legal, Tax, Financial Reporting and Technology to resolve issues.
• Manage and modify accounting/financial systems, procedures, and processes.
