Our client is an extremely mission-driven organization that is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to work in their Somerset County office.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$120k - $140k

Position Overview

The Senior Fund Accountant reports directly to the Director of Finance. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of investment funds, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with significant exposure to fund operations, investor reporting, and audit processes.

Responsibilities Of The Senior Fund Accountant

• The Senior Fund Accountant will prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and investor allocations.
• Reconcile fund bank accounts, investments, and other balance sheet items.
• The Senior Fund Accountant will process capital activity such as contributions, distributions, and allocations in accordance with fund documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP or IFRS.
• The Senior Fund Accountant will support external auditors during annual audits, including the preparation of workpapers and responding to audit queries.
• Monitor fund compliance with investment guidelines and partnership agreements.
• The Senior Fund Accountant will coordinate with fund administrators, custodians, and internal stakeholders.
• Analyze fund performance and variances, preparing reports for senior management.
• The Senior Fund Accountant will prepare investment-related tax return schedules and supporting documentation.
  
  

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Fund Accountant:

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4+ years of experience.
• Experience with K1s as well as alternative investments, hedge funds, or private equity.
• CPA license or parts passed, OR public/private accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Systems savvy or a technology enthusiast.
