Job summary

International Association of Insurance Professionals (IAIP) in Chicago, IL seeks a Senior Fund Accountant to oversee hedge fund accounting, NAV calculations, and investor reporting. You will review NAV packages, prepare investor and management reporting, and assist with annual audited financial statements with external auditors.

The ideal candidate has 4–7 years in asset management, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and CPA preferred. Multi-currency and alternative investments experience is a plus.

Job Title: Senior Fund Accountant

Salary: $120,000-$140,000

Company Summary: A leading global proprietary trading firm is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its growing investment platform. The firm manages sophisticated investment strategies across multiple asset classes and operates in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. The role offers broad exposure to derivatives, digital assets, multi-currency funds, and alternative investment strategies, while partnering closely with Treasury, Operations, Business Management, Legal, Investor Relations, and investment teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience overseeing fund accounting, NAV, review, investor reporting, and financial reporting across a portfolio of alternative investment vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and validate monthly and quarterly NAV packages prepared by third-party fund administrators, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Prepare investor reporting, management reporting, performance calculations, and ad hoc analyses for internal stakeholders
• Support the preparation of annual audited financial statements and act as a key point of contact for external auditors
• Review journal entries, accruals, expense allocations, management and performance fee calculations, capital activity and investor allocations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
• 4-7 years of hedge fund, fund administration, asset management, consulting or Big Four experience supporting asset management clients
• Strong experience with fund accounting, NAV preparation and review, investor allocations, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of alternative investment structures including management and performance fees, capital activity, and multi-currency environments
