Job summary

TUV SUD America is seeking a seasoned professional to join our safety engineering team. The role focuses on validating conformity of products with international and national regulations, and preparing rigorous technical reports.

You will lead safety-critical design activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support sales with technical expertise. Travel up to 20% nationwide is required, with a fully remote work model offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, SE, EE, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of functional safety experience for automotive/rail/machinery.
• Experience in safety-critical systems design (ISO 26262/61508/13849).
• Strong technical leadership in collaborative environments.
• Excellent communication and basic project management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Willingness to travel and adapt to fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assess, and test products for conformity with regulations.
• Prepare technical reports to appropriate standards, documentation.
• Support sales/marketing with technical expertise including customer presentations.
• Generate test procedures and communicate with safety agencies.
• Provide technical support during safety test programs and site inspections.
• Stay updated on safety requirements through training and seminars.
• Participate in ISO 17025 quality system continuous improvement.
