Arul Health, a Boston-based healthcare navigation startup, is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to own and contribute to scalable enterprise products. You will lead architecture discussions and mentor engineers while building AI-enabled, compliant software for healthcare partners.

You will collaborate with product, data, and leadership to shape the technical roadmap, while advancing the security, performance, and reliability of the consumer platform.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to join our Boston team at a pivotal stage of growth. You’ll be a hands-on engineer and technical leader, building new enterprise products while improving the performance, security, and scalability of our consumer platform.

This role offers significant ownership over architecture, product direction, and engineering practices, with the opportunity to help grow the engineering team and potentially advance into Head of Engineering or CTO as the company scales.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and build scalable, production-quality applications and APIs.
• Develop greenfield solutions supporting enterprise healthcare and pharmaceutical partnerships.
• Improve the performance, security, and reliability of our consumer platform.
• Build with AI agent frameworks and help establish effective guardrails for agent-based applications.
• Help drive HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance and security initiatives.

Influence architecture, technical strategy, and product roadmap decisions.

Mentor engineers and help establish development best practices.

Collaborate closely with product, data, design, and company leadership.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system design, and software architecture.
• Significant hands-on software engineering experience building and shipping production-quality applications.
• Strong full-stack or backend development experience, including APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations.
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, React, or comparable modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience with an AI agent framework, particularly within consumer-facing products, is highly desirable.
• Experience working with healthcare data, HIPAA, SOC 2, security, or another highly regulated environment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to think beyond individual tickets and take ownership of architecture, product outcomes, and the broader technical roadmap.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership potential, including mentoring engineers, navigating technical disagreements, and providing thoughtful feedback.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

You may be an especially strong fit if you have:

• Built consumer-facing AI or agent-based applications.
• Worked with frameworks such as Google ADK, OpenAI SDK, NVIDIA NeMo, or similar technologies.
• Helped take products or systems from zero to one in an early-stage environment.
• Worked with sensitive healthcare or regulated data.
• Led or significantly contributed to HIPAA or SOC 2 compliance initiatives.
• Experience at an early-stage startup where you've had to operate beyond the boundaries of a traditional engineering role.
• The desire and ability to grow into broader technical leadership as the company scales.
• Base Salary: $150K–$205K (dependent on experience)
• Equity: 0.85%–2% (dependent on experience)
