Envoy in San Francisco seeks a Senior Fullstack Engineer for the Response team to tackle backend challenges and scale our Threat Intelligence and Emergency Notifications platforms. You’ll work on real-time data pipelines, AI-powered decisions, and customer-facing features with React/TypeScript. This is an on-site role four days a week at our SF HQ.

You’ll influence architecture, apply AI to product problems, and collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver impactful solutions.

Competenze

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience building and operating production software with strong backend engineering expertise.
• Strong fundamentals and backend services using Kotlin or Java.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems, microservices, and APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, data modeling, and query optimization.
• Experience with asynchronous processing or Kafka.
• Proficiency with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS, and delivering frontend features.
• Strong product mindset and ability to balance technical excellence with customer value.
• Experience driving technical projects independently and collaborating across teams.

• Build and scale real-time threat intelligence systems that ingest, process, classify, and enrich signals from numerous data sources to surface actionable threats to organizations.
• Solve challenging distributed systems problems, including high-throughput event processing, data deduplication, and reliable asynchronous workflows.
• Apply AI to real-world engineering problems, building intelligent workflows that help identify relevant threats, reduce noise, and deliver actionable insights.
• Build and evolve emergency notification systems that deliver critical communications reliably at scale across channels such as SMS, email, mobile push, and Slack.
• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services, APIs, and data models using Kotlin, Kafka, Postgres, AWS, and OpenSearch.
• Build intuitive, performant customer-facing experiences using React and TypeScript, owning features across the full stack.
• Drive technical design and architecture decisions, balancing scalability, reliability, performance, and engineering simplicity.
• Own features and systems end-to-end, from design and implementation to production operations and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to translate complex customer problems into simple, effective solutions.
