Job summary

Dave is a US-based financial technology company focused on delivering accessible, affordable products to millions of Americans. We’re seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to own meaningful problems across the stack and collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing, Operations, and other engineers.

You’ll design and build fullstack applications, work with React and React Native, and drive scalable backend services while balancing short-term needs with long-term architecture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience building fullstack applications.
• Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript and a solid foundation in computer science and problem-solving.
• Experience building user-focused interfaces with a modern UI framework such as React.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling backend services.
• Ability to discuss system architecture, component design, and the trade-offs behind technical decisions.
• Experience using monitoring and metrics to understand the health and performance of production systems.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of collaborating effectively with engineers and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and use it to improve both your work and the team’s outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain fullstack applications and backend services using JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Build member-facing and internal experiences using technologies such as React and React Native.
• Own technical solutions from design through production, making thoughtful trade-offs between immediate needs and long-term scalability.
• Partner with Product, Design, Marketing, Operations, and Infrastructure to define requirements and turn them into reliable products and systems.
• Deliver high-quality code supported by appropriate unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, monitoring, and metrics.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, mentorship, pairing, and helping the team make sound technical decisions.
