The Consumer Platforms - Web & Backend team owns the core web experience for www.roblox.com and the backend services that power Roblox’s consumer apps across mobile, console, desktop, and web. The team provides the foundational architecture, frameworks, and services that other product teams build on, ensuring Roblox is fast, reliable, and delightful for all our users.

As a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer on this team, you’ll work across both the web platform and its backend, shaping the experience where millions of people first discover and return to Roblox. You will balance platform excellence with direct product impact - you will architect and ship end-to-end product features that define how millions of users interact with our ecosystem daily.

You will:

• Drive the full product lifecycle in close collaboration with product and design teams, transforming complex requirements into high-performance, polished features
• Lead systematic improvements to our UI development processes and architecture.
• Architect, build, and maintain our design system and component library in collaboration with cross-functional teams, while innovating associated developer tooling to ensure consistency, scalability, and boosting team productivity.
• Champion best practices for writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Stay ahead of industry trends in frontend & backend development, component-based frameworks, and UI/UX to drive continuous improvement.

You have:

• 4+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer, with a proven track record of building and shipping production-level applications.
• Expertise in modern frontend technologies and component-based UI frameworks like React.
• Expertise in an Object-Oriented Programming language (e.g., C#, Java, C++).
• Solid experience with backend development, including designing APIs, working with microservices and databases, and building scalable server-side logic using languages such as Node.js
• A deep understanding of the entire application lifecycle, from architecture and design to deployment and maintenance.
• A strong design sensibility and a commitment to creating highly accessible and visually polished user interfaces.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead discussions and work effectively with product, design, and other engineering teams.
• Experience with any of the following is a plus: NextJS, Node.js, Tailwind CSS, C++, Lua, contributing to or managing a design system.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range

$196,750 — $243,290 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
