Job summary

Commure is building the AI Operating System for healthcare, unifying backend, frontend, and cloud delivery to reduce administrative burden and accelerate patient care. We seek a Senior Fullstack Engineer to design, implement, and support scalable healthcare AI applications using Java and React.

The role is remote in the United States, offering opportunities to work across patient care and revenue workflows at scale, with ownership from design through production and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• Full-stack development experience: backend APIs, frontend UI, integrations, and authentication.
• Deep expertise in Java and scalable architectures.
• Experience with Spring Boot, React, databases, and cloud deployments.
• REST API design and consumption expertise.
• Proficiency with relational and document databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Excellent communication skills.

About The Role

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you'll be critical to designing, developing, and supporting both backend and frontend logic for our innovative healthcare AI applications. You'll be instrumental in building scalable, robust, and reliable systems that empower healthcare providers to deliver better patient care.

This role is a remote full time position and can be based anywhere in the US.

What You’ll Do

• Design and Develop: Build and maintain scalable, healthcare AI applications using Java and React.
• Architect Solutions: Design robust, performant, and maintainable system architectures, focusing on cloud application best practices.
• Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into effective solutions.
• Optimize Performance: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure high application availability and efficiency.
• Innovate: Contribute to the development of cutting-edge features leveraging the power of AI and machine learning.
• Code Review: Participate in code reviews to foster knowledge sharing and best practices across the team.
• Maintain Quality: Write thorough tests and documentation to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Deployment and Support: Assist with the development, deployment, and support of on-prem and cloud-based solutions, spanning from internal development to customer production systems.

What You Have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience
• Professional software development experience with a focus on full-stack development, including backend APIs, frontend UI, system integrations, and user authentication.
• Deep expertise in Java programming, including experience designing and implementing highly optimized and scalable architectures.
• Experience with building enterprise-grade full-stack applications using Spring Boot, React, UX design frameworks, and relational and document databases.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying cloud-based applications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong experience with relational databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and document databases, including MongoDB and derivatives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bonus points for:
• Experience in the healthcare domain, including HL7 and FHIR.
• Experience with AI/ML concepts and frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Working knowledge of containers (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).

Compensation Range: $160K - $230K
