Job summary

Essense of Australia is seeking a Software Engineer to lead full stack development for WordPress-driven sites, combining PHP backend with React/TypeScript frontend. The role emphasizes scalable plugins, API integrations, and AWS hosting, with a hybrid office schedule in Lenexa, KS.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver performant, accessible web properties, stay ahead of trends, and support marketing initiatives while shaping the company’s digital roadmap.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional Full Stack development
Expert-level PHP (PHP 8+), modern practices (PSR, Composer)
Advanced WordPress engineering experience with custom plugins
Strong React and TypeScript proficiency
Experience with AWS and cloud hosting environments
Familiarity with SEO and analytics integrations
Experience with Docker-based workflows

Responsibilities

Full Stack development and maintenance of WordPress features using PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React.
Implementation, optimization, and maintenance of third-party APIs that work with our brand websites and internal portals.
Ability to develop and maintain new plugins as needed.
Day-to-day maintenance and overall site health for multiple web properties.
Understand and work on internal web servers and AWS-hosted environments.
Collaborate with team leaders and external partners to define roadmaps and ROI.
