Job summary

Sharetec Systems is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will work across backend, frontend, and database layers to deliver scalable, secure software for core banking and lending solutions.

You will mentor peers, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps to ensure reliable production systems. Remote work from the U.S. is supported with some California exclusions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development with leadership.
• Backend expertise: C#.NET, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, Python/FastAPI.

• Strong data modeling with PostgreSQL/SQL Server/MongoDB.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help build the software that credit unions across the country use every day. You’ll work hands‑on across the full stack — backend services, data architecture, and front‑end applications — to deliver software that is reliable, scalable, and easy to use.

Much of this work involves modernizing long‑lived production systems into modular, maintainable designs. You’ll lead design discussions, set a high bar in code reviews, mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and work closely with product managers, QA, and DevOps to turn business needs into working software.

Position Details

This is a full‑time, exempt position. Candidates may work remotely from anywhere in the United States, with the exception of California.

The starting salary range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000 based on experience plus bonus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, and database layers
• Lead design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best‑practice initiatives
• Evaluate new technologies and guide adoption of tools that improve developer productivity and system performance
• Define and document architecture patterns, design principles, and shared libraries for reuse across teams
• Partner with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability tooling

Software Development

• Build high‑quality, production‑ready features using modern frameworks and cloud platforms
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code, and help our coding standards evolve
• Optimize system performance, reduce technical debt, and improve reliability
• Work with QA engineers on automated testing strategies and code coverage
• Take part in the production support rotation and lead root cause analysis and prevention

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers
• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Give feedback and guidance during design and implementation reviews
• Act as a technical resource and subject matter expert for your product domain

Qualified Candidates Should Have

Required

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership on complex projects
• Deep proficiency with at least one backend platform: C#/.NET, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, OpenEdge, or Python/FastAPI
• Advanced experience with modern frontend technologies: Angular, React, or Vue.js
• Strong database design and data architecture expertise: Progress, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB
• Experience integrating APIs and third‑party systems securely and efficiently
• Proven ability to modernize legacy applications into modular designs
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization
• Clear communication skills for explaining complex technical ideas to varied audiences
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred

• Experience leading small teams or serving as technical lead on a feature squad
• Experience designing distributed systems or microservice architectures
• Hands‑on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Security‑first mindset and experience implementing secure coding practices
• Prior experience in financial services or fintech
• Familiarity with SOC 2 or other compliance frameworks
