Job summary

Sharetec is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team. You’ll build software for core banking and lending solutions used by credit unions, working across backend, frontend, and data layers.

You’ll mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and collaborate with product managers, QA, and DevOps to deliver reliable, secure software. Remote work is allowed nationwide with California caveat. Salary ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 plus bonus.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with leadership on complex projects.
• Deep proficiency in at least one backend platform: C#/.NET, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, OpenEdge, or Python/FastAPI.
• Advanced experience with frontend technologies: Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Strong database design and data architecture with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB.
• Experience integrating APIs and modernizing legacy applications into modular designs.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud services; strong communication skills.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help build the software that credit unions across the country use every day. You’ll work hands-on across the full stack — backend services, data architecture, and front-end applications — to deliver software that is reliable, scalable, and easy to use.

Much of this work involves modernizing long-lived production systems into modular, maintainable designs. You’ll lead design discussions, set a high bar in code reviews, mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and work closely with product managers, QA, and DevOps to turn business needs into working software.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Candidates may work remotely from anywhere in the United States, with the exception of California.

The starting salary range for this position is $120,000 – $140,000 based on experience plus bonus.

Technical Leadership

• Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, and database layers

• Write clean, testable, and efficient code, and help our coding standards evolve
• Optimize system performance, reduce technical debt, and improve reliability
• Work with QA engineers on automated testing strategies and code coverage
• Take part in the production support rotation and lead root cause analysis and prevention
• Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers
• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Give feedback and guidance during design and implementation reviews
• Act as a technical resource and subject matter expert for your product domain

Qualified Candidates Should Have

Required

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership on complex projects
• Deep proficiency with at least one backend platform: C#/.NET, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, OpenEdge, or Python/FastAPI
• Advanced experience with modern frontend technologies: Angular, React, or Vue.js
• Strong database design and data architecture expertise: Progress, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB
• Experience integrating APIs and third-party systems securely and efficiently
• Proven ability to modernize legacy applications into modular designs
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization
• Clear communication skills for explaining complex technical ideas to varied audiences
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred

• Experience leading small teams or serving as technical lead on a feature squad
• Experience designing distributed systems or microservice architectures
• Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Security-first mindset and experience implementing secure coding practices
• Prior experience in financial services or fintech
• Familiarity with SOC 2 or other compliance frameworks
