Job summary

Electric Hydrogen is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Digital Team in San Jose. You will build mission-critical software powering the world’s most powerful electrolyzers, ingest plant data, and support operators and researchers with scalable web apps and data tools.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, from requirements to deployment and monitoring, while collaborating with manufacturing, R&D, field service, and leadership to accelerate product development and improve

Qualifications

• Significant professional software development experience building web applications, data platforms, or data pipelines.
• Experience with industrial telemetry, IoT, SCADA systems, or industrial automation is preferred.
• Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs
• Strong Python programming skills with data analysis libraries such as Pandas or PySpark
• Experience with AWS cloud services and an understanding of cloud architecture design tradeoffs

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions for Electric Hydrogen’s digital platform.
• Develop and enhance industrial telemetry pipelines from plant data to cloud platforms.
• Build and maintain a centralized data lake for analysis and reporting.
• Develop and support Python- and SQL-based data analysis tools used by engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing and internal full-stack web applications.
• Develop software integrations that improve manufacturing systems and operational workflows
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring and alerting systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in architectural decisions and on-call rotations

• We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Electric Hydrogen’s Digital Team, where you will develop mission-critical software that powers the world’s most powerful electrolyzers
• In this role, you will build and maintain software systems that collect, transform, and deliver industrial data from our R&D labs, manufacturing facilities, and hydrogen plants
• Your work will directly support plant operators, scientists, executives, and field service teams by providing the tools and data needed to optimize performance, accelerate product development, and improve operational efficiency
• Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager
• Design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions that support Electric Hydrogen’s digital platform
• Own projects from prioritization and requirements gathering through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance
• Develop and enhance industrial telemetry pipelines that ingest plant data from Ignition SCADA systems into cloud-based platforms
• Build and maintain a centralized data lake that consolidates information from multiple data sources for analysis and reporting
• Develop and support Python- and SQL-based data analysis tools used by engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
• Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing and internal full-stack web applications using modern web technologies
• Develop software integrations that improve manufacturing systems and operational workflows
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring and alerting systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, R&D, field service, and leadership to deliver high-impact software solutions
• Participate in architectural discussions and help define the technical direction for new systems and features
• Participate in an on-call incident response rotation

Demonstrated ability to contribute to software architecture and technical decision-making

Significant professional software development experience building web applications, data platforms, or data pipelines

Experience with industrial telemetry, IoT, SCADA systems, or industrial automation is preferred

Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs

Strong Python programming skills with experience using data analysis libraries such as Pandas, PySpark, or similar frameworks

Experience with AWS cloud services and an understanding of cloud architecture design tradeoffs

Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Strong proficiency with JavaScript, Node.js, React, and TypeScript

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders

Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

Experience developing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring solutions
