Job summary

Baker Hughes in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Development DBA to design, build, and maintain software applications and services across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will own full software lifecycle, write high‑performance queries, manage HA clusters, and collaborate with DEVOPS and cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deliver, and maintain software applications and services.

• Own the full software lifecycle: requirements, documentation, and implementation.
• Write high‑performance queries, stored procedures, and triggers; troubleshoot issues.
• Manage HA clusters and cloud environments with DEVOPS/CloudOps collaboration.
• Apply existing technologies to design new products, systems, or processes.
• Work across database technologies to provide cost-effective and performant solutions.
• Present project plans and roadmaps to senior leaders and partner teams.
• Communicate solutions across functions and with cross‑functional partners.

We provide customers with the peace of mind needed to reliably and efficiently improve their operations. Our team is building a next‑generation platform of software for intelligent decisions, supporting the mission‑critical requirements of customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deliver, and maintain software applications and services.
• Work in the areas of machine, cloud, platform, and/or application.
• Be responsible for the full software lifecycle, including requirement analysis, documentation, and implementation.
• Write high‑performance optimized queries, stored procedures, triggers, and troubleshoot urgent issues.
• Manage HA clusters and environments on cloud services, collaborating with DEVOPS and CloudOps on logical partitioning, replication, clustering, and mirroring.
• Apply existing technologies, approaches, and methodologies in new combinations to design new products, systems, or processes.
• Work across various database technologies to provide cost‑effective and performance‑effective business solutions.
• Present project plans, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior business leaders (EB and SEB) and occasionally to senior leaders in partner technical teams.
• Communicate solutions across the own function and with cross‑functional partner organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of five additional years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Desired skills: Postgres or MySQL; experience with NoSQL, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and Data Lake is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead programs or projects.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
• Established project management skills.
