Etude in downtown Austin is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. You’ll work across the entire stack, building, testing, and shipping features, collaborating closely with leadership to solve high-impact technical challenges and shape our platform’s future.

Based in Austin, this full-time role transitions to a hybrid schedule after onboarding. You’ll join a high-agency team that values autonomy, responsibility, and accountability as we deliver critical

Qualifications

• Min 5 years in a full-stack role delivering complex features.
• Degree in CS/EE.
• Proficient with TypeScript, JavaScript, React; Node/Express; REST APIs.
• Experience with relational databases, Git, AWS.
• Able to learn new AI tools and integrate them.
• Strong collaboration and mentoring abilities.

• Lead development across the stack — Architect, build, and ship high-quality code across our entire platform, setting the standard for technical excellence.
• Design scalable, elegant solutions — Collaborate with Product to solve complex problems with simple, customer-centric features.
• Own issue resolution — Triage, prioritize, and resolve system-level issues while guiding others on best practices.
• Champion continuous improvement — Proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance, code health, and team efficiency.
• Advocate for the user — Build with empathy and a deep understanding of customer needs, ensuring every solution adds meaningful value.

Our real estate business owns approximately $1B of commercial property alongside the Kinder Family Office. Our industrial business is developing a multibillion-dollar, 40-acre steelworks to secure the domestic supply chain for electrical infrastructure.

Etude is looking for a driven Senior Full Stack Software Engineer. In this role, you’ll work across the entire stack building, testing, and shipping features. You'll collaborate closely with company leadership, playing a key role in solving high-impact technical challenges and shaping the future of our platform.

About The Role

Joining our Engineering team at this stage means your work will have a huge influence on future developers, the codebase, and company culture. This role is based out of our downtown Austin office—full time at first and then hybrid after onboarding.

Your Experience

• 5+ years in a full-stack software development role with a track record of owning and delivering complex features or systems
• Degree in CS/EE
• Deep proficiency with Frontend (TypeScript, JavaScript, React), Backend (Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs), and Infrastructure (Relational databases, Git, AWS) systems and languages
• Ability to learn and adapt to best-in-class tools including but not limited to Claude Code, Claude.ai, Linear, and other rapidly advancing AI tools
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead discussions, drive alignment, and mentor peers
• DevOps-related experience is a plus—skills that go beyond just writing code and own how that code runs in production
• Desire to work in-person or hybrid from our beautiful downtown Austin office
