Job summary

Etude is seeking a driven Full Stack Engineer to work across the stack, building, testing, and shipping features. You’ll collaborate closely with company leadership to solve high-impact technical challenges and shape the future of our platform.

In this role you’ll contribute across the stack, build customer-facing features with Product and Design, and help improve reliability and performance. This position supports in-person or hybrid work from our downtown Austin office.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-stack experience with shipping real-world applications.
• Background in CS/EE, a coding bootcamp, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Comfortable with Frontend (TypeScript, JavaScript, React), Backend (Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs), and Infrastructure (relational databases, Git, AWS).
• Willingness to learn and adopt AI-powered developer tools like Claude Code, Claude.ai, Linear.
• Solid communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• DevOps experience is a bonus, especially if you’re curious about production runs.
• Excited to work in-person or hybrid from our downtown Austin office.

About the business

Etude operates in insurance, commercial real estate, and industrials. Our insurance business covers more than 5,000 properties with billions of dollars in insured value. Our real estate business owns approximately $1B of commercial property alongside the Kinder Family Office. Our industrial business is developing a multibillion-dollar, 40-acre steelworks to secure the domestic supply chain for electrical infrastructure.

About You

You're a curious and resourceful builder who enjoys solving real-world problems through code. You’re eager to grow your technical skills, collaborate with others, and contribute to a fast-paced, mission-driven team.

Your experience:

• 2+ years of experience in full-stack software development with exposure to shipping real-world applications

• Background in CS/EE, a coding bootcamp, or equivalent hands‑on experience building production systems

• Comfortable with Frontend (TypeScript, JavaScript, React), Backend (Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs), and Infrastructure (relational databases, Git, AWS) technologies

• Willingness to learn and adopt best-in-class tools like Claude Code, Claude.ai, Linear, and other fast-moving AI-powered developer tools

• Solid communication skills and a collaborative mindset—willing to ask questions, give input, and support your teammates

• DevOps experience is a bonus, especially if you’re interested in understanding how code runs in production

• Excited to work in-person or hybrid from our beautiful downtown Austin office
