Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Development Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end features—from intuitive front-end interfaces to reliable, performant backend systems.

You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and hardware teams to accelerate innovation in advanced hardware development, owning features from concept through deployment and iteration in a remote, contract-to-hire environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field / experience
  • 5 years of professional software development experience building production web applications
  • Deep expertise in full stack TypeScript
  • Proficiency with React, GraphQL, TypeScript and Postgres
  • Experience designing and maintaining backend services (Node.js, Next.js, or similar frameworks)
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles and experience with modern testing frameworks
  • Proven ability to own features from concept through deployment and iteration
  • On‑call/incident response experience
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across cross‑functional teams
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with a focus on delivering impact

  • Contribute to excellence in operations including maintaining and improving our CI pipeline and independently supporting an on‑call shift
  • Implement and maintain a strong automated testing culture with comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end coverage
  • Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions across the Boltline platform
  • Partner with product and hardware teams to translate user needs into scalable, elegant software solutions
  • Contribute to operational excellence by improving CI/CD pipelines, observability, and on‑call reliability
  • Mentor and guide mid- through internship‑level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design collaboration

As a Senior Full-Stack Software Development Engineer on the team, you will design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end features---from intuitive front-end interfaces to reliable, performant backend systems. You'll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and hardware teams to create tools that accelerate innovation in advanced hardware development. The ideal candidate demonstrates a high degree of ownership, technical excellence, and curiosity---balancing fast execution with thoughtful engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop end-to-end features across the full stack using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Postgres

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $74.21 - $139.13/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
