Job summary

HighLevel is seeking a Software Development Engineer III (Full Stack) to join the Labs team. You will help power feature-flag management, staged rollouts, and customer feedback collection across the platform used by 100K+ agencies and 2M+ businesses.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and scaling backend systems and frontend applications.
• Strong backend skills with Node.js, TypeScript, API development, data modeling and system design.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cross-service communication.
• Experience with MongoDB and Redis; familiarity with data modeling and performance optimization.
• Frontend experience with modern frameworks (Vue.js, React, Angular) and component-driven architecture.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and AI/LLM workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and production-ready code.
• Strong observability practices using logs, metrics, tracing and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, design, and development of Labs platform features: Feature Flags, Staged Rollouts, and Customer Feedback.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations across internal microservices and third-party platforms.
• Develop frontend experiences for feature flag management and rollout configuration using modern frameworks.
• Drive technical decisions, assess risks, and own complex features from design to production.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve development, testing, debugging, and refactoring.
• Design data models and efficient queries for low-latency flag evaluation at scale.
• Contribute to SDLC activities from requirements to deployment and production support.
• Write clean, secure, tested code with unit and integration tests.
• Build observability through logs, metrics, monitoring, and tracing for reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, incident resolution, and on-call support.
