Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Java Developer to own the maintenance and modernization of a portfolio of enterprise Gateway applications.

You’ll work with Java Spring Boot microservices and Angular front-ends (from Angular 8 to Angular 18), focusing on security, code quality, and long-term maintainability, collaborating with the Principal Engineer to drive platform health. Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with enterprise REST APIs and backend architecture.
• Hands-on Angular experience, including upgrades (Angular 8+).
• Proficiency in TypeScript, RxJS, and modern frontend practices.
• Experience with security remediation tools (Veracode, CAST, SonarQube).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ownership mindset in fast-paced enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to maintenance and modernization of enterprise Gateway apps across backend and frontend.
• Drive remediation of security vulnerabilities identified by tools such as Veracode, CAST, and SonarQube.
• Support dependency upgrades, framework modernization, refactoring, and technical debt reduction.
• Design and implement secure, maintainable solutions with Java Spring Boot and Angular.
• Contribute to Angular modernization across legacy and current codebases.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews while upholding engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, security, QA, and product stakeholders to prioritize remediation.
• Support long-term platform health via ongoing security and maintainability improvements.
