Job summary

Petrichor, based in Chicago, seeks a Senior Full Stack Developer to design, engineer, and release core features like logistics visibility and inventory management on our platform. You’ll work with product, sales, and engineering teams from planning through maintenance, with a hybrid model requiring 3–4 days in-office.

You’ll lead development across the stack (Rails, React, Python/Java/Go) and own integrations, data architectures, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree (BS/MS/PhD) in computer science, engineering, or related discipline; or 4+ years direct experience in lieu of degree
• Deep knowledge in software design, data structures, and web architecture principles and protocols
• 3+ years software development experience in general programming languages such as Rails/Python/Java/Go (currently uses Ruby on Rails for back-end)
• 3+ years experience with front-end languages and libraries, such as Angular, React, and Node.js (uses React)
• 3+ years experience working with Postgres or other major database solutions
• Production experience in AWS or Azure deployments and related capabilities such as Docker deployment
• Solid interpersonal skills to interact with both internal and external groups
• Proven ability to work in high-growth, high-output environment with independence

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and launch the initial version of Petrichor's logistics visibility and inventory management modules
• Refactor and modify existing proof of concept (~10-20% of time)
• Conduct new product development (~80-90% of time)
• Build out risk reporting module, including real-time index pricing and P&L
• Redesign, refactor, and enhance contract management modules
• Support product teams in implementing software with customers
• Enable customers to meet KPIs around usage and efficiency
• Ensure software and data architecture can scale for growth
• Manage integrations with third-party applications
• Expand processes and tools for customer support, issue tracking, and security/regulatory compliance
• Ensure SOC 2 and GDPR compliance
• Provide technical support during third-party data integrations and risk resolution
