Job summary

People Data Labs is seeking an experienced backend engineer to advance our data delivery APIs and standalone data products at scale. You will work with a team to improve existing APIs, build new services, and ensure high data quality for diverse customers.

The role requires strong Python development, REST API design, and experience with modern frameworks, SQL databases, and cloud infrastructure. A remote-friendly environment is offered with a strong emphasis on autonomy and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of Python backend experience in production environments.
• Strong REST API design skills including versioning, pagination, and auth.
• Experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask or similar frameworks.
• Deep SQL experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and schema design.
• Knowledge of caching, background jobs, and scalable architectures.
• Proficient in writing tests with pytest and API-level tests.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in production monitoring, logging, metrics, and debugging.

Responsibilities
