Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced Fullstack Engineer to lead a modern, document-centric web interface integrated with Google Cloud Vertex AI Search. You will bridge React frontend with Python backend services to build document processing and automated document creation features for our enterprise AI platform.

This contract-to-hire role is remote, with up to 11 weeks before potential conversion to full-time. Start date: end of August.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering web applications.
• Proficiency with Python frameworks (FastAPI/Flask/Django).
• Proficiency with modern React (hooks, state management).
• Experience integrating vector or enterprise search platforms (e.g., Vertex AI Search, Elasticsearch, Pinecone).
• Experience with document parsing, unstructured data pipelines, or automated document workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (prefer Google Cloud) and secure data handling.

Responsibilities

• Frontend Development: Architect and build React UIs for document handling and interactive workflows.
• Backend Development & APIs: Build Python services and RESTful APIs to connect UIs with search engines and data pipelines.
• Search & AI Integration: Connect workflows to Vertex AI Search and optimize indexing and retrieval.
• Document Processing Systems: Implement document uploading, parsing, rendering, and auto-generation.
• Performance & Scalability: Optimize load times and API latency for real-time search interactions.
• Code Quality & Testing: Write tests, participate in code reviews, ensure security standards.
• Technical Collaboration: Work with cloud engineers, architects, and leadership to refine requirements.
