Job summary

GEICO in Bethesda, Maryland is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to design and deliver scalable, high-performance software solutions across the enterprise. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate across teams to drive innovation and efficient data management.

You will contribute to DevOps practices with Docker and Kubernetes, support 24x7 critical systems, and work on RESTful APIs and microservices across front-end and back-end layers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with front-end tech: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), ReactJS.
• Backend experience: Java, ASP.NET Core, Spring Boot.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data formats such as JSON/XML.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/IS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient distributed systems.
• Define product requirements with stakeholders to deliver optimal solutions.
• Collaborate across teams throughout the SDLC for seamless delivery.
• Lead design sessions, code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop reusable components to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Full-stack development: React frontend, .NET/Java backend, SQL/NoSQL data management.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Utilize CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes to streamline deployment.
• Publish and maintain design references, workflows, and runbooks.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical systems when necessary.
