Job summary

DebtBook is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to thrive in a Majestic Monolith built with Ruby on Rails and React. You will balance developing new features with improving platform-wide systems, mentoring teammates, and shaping solutions from design through deployment.

You'll work across front-end and back-end layers, participate in SDLC, write tests, and collaborate with product, design, and analytics to deliver impactful outcomes. Hybrid in Charlotte, NC with competitive salary and bonus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related professional experience.
• Experience with Ruby or React.
• Some familiarity with front-end and back-end web development.
• Ability to communicate complicated technical concepts well with teammates in all functions, including non-technical roles.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of the SDLC: solution shaping, system design, ticket writing/breakdown, write full-stack code, review code, perform deployments, participate in monitoring, and gather data for reporting.
• Own the quality of your work. Write tests and work with your team to ensure everything works before merging and releasing.
• Work cross-functionally on your team to ensure work is scoped to deliver quickly and deliver the right functionality.
• Work collaboratively with other cross functional product-focused teams.
