Job summary

Fitch Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Ratings Technology team in New York. You will build and enhance mission-critical full-stack applications using Python and React, contributing to analytics and business workflows across a global ratings organization.

You will work with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, exploring AI-powered capabilities to improve user experiences and automate processes, with a focus on scalable, reliable software and modern development

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on Python development (FastAPI/Flask/Django).
• 5+ years of hands-on React experience in production.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party services.
• Solid understanding of OO design, data structures, algorithms, and scalable architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• AI Fluency – integrating AI-powered capabilities and LLM APIs.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Python, React, and modern practices.
• Build scalable backend services and APIs supporting data-driven workflows.
• Develop intuitive frontend experiences with React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to architecture and design for scalability, security, and performance.
• Promote engineering excellence via code reviews, tests, and CI/CD.
