Job summary

Fitch Group is seeking a solid Software Engineer to join our Ratings Technology team in Chicago. You will design, develop and maintain full-stack applications using Python and React, building scalable backend services and APIs that power analysts’ workflows.

You will collaborate with product managers and stakeholders, contribute to architecture, and apply AI-enabled capabilities to improve user experiences and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 12+ years of hands-on Python development
• 5+ years of hands-on React experience
• Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Experience designing RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of OO design, data structures and scalable systems
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and AI-enabled development

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Python and React
• Build scalable backend services and APIs supporting critical workflows
• Develop responsive frontend experiences with TypeScript and modern web tech
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions
• Contribute to architecture and design for scalability, security, and performance
